Yuanyang Terraced Fields Tour (Kunming,Jianshui,Yuanyang) 5 Days

 

Upon arrival in kunming, mee your local guide and transferred to your hotel. Have a welcome dinner at a fine local restaurant.

Day 02  Kunming – Jianshui (B/L/D)

Highlights: Stone Forest, Confucian Temple

Morning: After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to the Stone Forest Scenic Area, a UNESCO geological park situated 78km away from Kunming. As the most typical karst landform in the world, the site is called “the first mysterious scene in the world”. Lunch is served at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Drive to Jianshui (3 hours). Upon your arrival you will visit Confucian Temple. Built in 1258AD, the Jianshui Confucian Temple is the second largest one next to that in Qufu, Shandong.It provides valuable historical data for the study of Confucianism, ancient exam system as well as traditional Chinese architecture.

Day 03  Jianshui – Yuanyang (B/L/D)

Highlights: Private Garden of the Zhu Family, Terraced Fields at Yuanyang

Morning: Pay a visit to Zhu Family’s Garden which is a group of splendid residential quarters built in the Qing dynasty, known as a “ Grand View Garden in a border town”. Afterwards, drive 2 and a half hours along bumpy mountain road to Yuanyang. Have lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Enjoy the unique view of terraced fields in Yuanyang. The terraced fields are magnificently distributed on the southern bank of the Honghe River. The best places to appreciate the charm of the spectacular terraces are Laohuzui (Tiger Mouth Pass), Duoyishu and Bada. This afternoon you will climb up to Laohuzui for an splendid view. Clothed in clouds and mist, such a tremendous number of terraces are fantastic, “ a real sculpture of the earth”, so named by anthropologists.

Day 04 Yuanyang  (B/L/D)

Highlights: Yuanyang Terraced Fields, Jingkou Hani Ethnic Village

Morning: Continue to enjoy the terraced fields at the other two best places: Duoyishu and Bada. In July 2004, the terraced fields were accepted and approved by the UN World Heritage Committee as one of the five potential heritage

sites offered by China.
Afternoon: Visit Jingkou Hani Ethnic Village. The Hani people are one of the earliest rice-cultivating ethnic groups in China. Hani Ethnic villages are usually built by the slopes with lush forest, abundant water and fertile field. Hani villagesare considered to be one of the most beautiful minority villages in China.

Drive back to Kunming (5 hours). After lunch transfer to the airport for your flight.
