Day 1 - Shanghai (No meal included)

Upon your arrival, our guide will meet you and transfer you to the city center. Check into your hotel for a 3-night stay. Relax after your long flight.

Day 2 - Shanghai (B, L, D)
Shanghai Xintiandi Plaza

This morning visit the lively People's Square, a popular area for Shanghai residents to do morning stretching exercises and a good spot to take in a panoramic vista of the city.

Continue to the Urban Planning Museum to learn more about the city's future and past and to see a scale model of how Shanghai will look in 2020.

Then move on to the Former French Concession to experience a mixture of both Chinese and Parisian taste.

Lunch will be served to you at Din Tai Fung Restaurant which is highly praised for its 'steam dumplings' and many other authentic dim sum items.

In the afternoon pay a visit to the Shikumen Museum, where a traditional courtyard home is decorated as it would have been in the 1920s.

After that visit the trendy boutiques and restaurants in the Xintiandi district.

Day 3 - Shanghai | Suzhou | Shanghai (B, L, D)
Tongli Town

After enjoying your breakfast you will be driven to Suzhou . After that, stop at Tongli, a small water town with delightful scenery in peace and tranquility. It´s well-known for its "low bridges, running water and small villages", for its customs and traditions, as well as its rich collection of antiques and historic sites.Enjoy lunch at Deyuelou Restaurant which is a time-honored restaurant in Suzhou. It is well-known for its history and the delicious local-taste dishes there.

This afternoon visit Suzhou Museum which is designed by the world famous architect I.M.Pei.

Besides thousands of cultural relics housed, the museum itself is absolutely a piece of exquisite piece of art work.

You will also visit Net of Master Garden. Small but elegant, it was listed as a UNESCO world cultural heritage site in 1997.

You will be transferred to Shanghai.Tonight you will dine at Jean Georges, a very nice restaurant on the Bund that offers wonderful views across the river of the Pudong skyline.

After dinner go to the historic Peace Hotel to hear its famous jazz band.

Day 4 - Shanghai | Guilin (B, L, D)

After enjoying your breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Guilin.

After that, flight: MU5321 (China Eastern, 10:45am-1:00pm).

Picked up by your local guide on arrival and transferred to the city center.

In the afternoon visit Reed Flute Cave. The cave is full of stalactites and stalagmites in various shapes and sizes, which, with a multicolored lighting system, resemble a Chinese-version story of Journey to the Center of the Earth. The cave was also a frequent refuge for the local people escaping bandits and war in the past.

Enjoy dinner at Xiangshan Shanshui Garden Restaurant.

Day 5 - Guilin | Yangshuo (B, L)

This morning enjoy a half-day cruise tour on the picturesque Li River, a trip that affords close-up views of the stunning karst formations for which Guilin is famous.

Pass tranquil farming land, fishing scenes and picturesque villages as the ship sailing down the river.

After lunch This morning make this day with trip to Li River Cruise to witness the spectacular limestone rock formations and rural life along the riverbanks. After lunch, stop at Yangshuo, a small town set in the lush rice paddies and surrounded by meandering rivers and limestone peaks. After that, embark a golf cart to travel through the streets and explore the peaceful countryside view.

Tonight enjoy a wonderful show named Impression Liu Sanjie directed by Zhang Yimou who is regarded the most intelligent and creative director in China. He also successfully directed the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in 2008.

Day 6 - Yangshuo | Guilin | Kunming (B, L, D)

Today attend a Tai Chi class.

Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art well-known to the public. In traditional Chinese fictions, it is often depicted as a sort of unconquerable power. But in modern time, its legendary meaning gradually fades away and it is now treated as daily exercise done mainly for health purpose.

Then you will be driven to Guilin.Have lunch at Xinjiulong Restaurant. It is a nice restaurant located by the picturesque Li River. When dining there, you can meanwhile enjoy the gorgeous scenery of the river. After having lunch you will be transferred to the airport and take flight to Kunming. After that, flight: CZ3247 China Southern, 2:40 pm - 3:55 pm).

Day 7 - Kunming | Lijiang (B, L)
Yuantong Temple: the Carnival of Buddhism and Daoism

This morning visit the Provincial Museum where you'll view a large collection of artifacts from Yunnan's ethnic groups. The museum has three exhibits: displaying ethnic clothes, bronze drums and Buddhist art. It provides a quiet and relaxed way to learn more about the Yunnan's history and culture.

Then you will visit Yuantong Temple, one of the oldest and biggest Buddhist temples in Kunming dating back to the early 14th century. On the 1st and 15th day of each lunar month people will gather here for all kinds of Buddhist activities.

Enjoy lunch at Shiping Restaurant, a traditional courtyard near the south end of Cuihu Park serving authentic Yunnan cuisine.

In the afternoon you will stroll around the Flower Market. The unique geographic location and temperate climate year-round makes the city one of the major bases of Flower planting. you will be transferred to the airport and take flight to Lijiang. After that, flight: CZ3451 (China Southern, 5:15pm-6:10pm).

Upon arrival in Lijiang, your local guide will greet you and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 8 - Lijiang (B, L)

Today take a scenic drive to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

It is praised as both the "Museum of the Contemporary Glaciers" and the "Kingdom of Plants". Take the cable car up to the halfway mountain (about 3,200 metres above sea level) for the expansive mountain view and snowy scenery.

Some people might have the signs of altitude sickness: dizziness, headaches and a feeling of sluggishness. Make sure you have a good sleep the night before.

Have lunch at Jinsheng Lishui,it makes authentic Naxi flavor food.

This afternoon pay a visit to Baisha Village, capital of the Naxi people prior to the 13th century and known for the collection of murals in the village.

Then come to Dongba Museum and enjoy a performance of traditonal Naxi music featuring Naxi people's ancient instruments. The Naxi tribe is one of China's most interesting ethnic minorities living mainly in Yunnan.

Day 9 - Lijiang | Chengdu (B, L)
The Old Town of Lijiang

After enjoying your breakfast stroll around the Old Town of Lijiang, which is the first Chinese hill town to earn a World Cultural Heritage status from UNESCO in 1997. It is full of cobbled streets, crisscrossed canals and swaying willow trees.

At the heart of the Old Town is the Square Street. Centuries ago it was the central bazaar where people bartered each other. Today it is still the centre of the town and business is open everyday. On sale are a variety of handicrafts, from homemade griddlecakes to handpicked tea leaves.

Lunch will be served at Muwang Yanyu Restaurant.

You may try Yunnan dishes, Sichuan cuisine or even western food.

After having lunch you will be transferred to the airport and take flight to Chengdu. After that, flight: MU5855 (China Eastern, 4:40 pm - 5:55 pm).

Day 10 - Chengdu | Le Shan | Chengdu (B, L, D)

Day 11 - Chengdu | Xian (B, L)

Day 12 - Xian (B, L, D)

After enjoying your breakfast depart with your guide and driver for Xian´s most famous attraction,the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum,one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th century.

Your tour here will see the archaeologists working in the pit as the warriors are still being excavated.
Enjoy lunch at Real Love Chang An, Xian´s best-known restaurant. You will be deeply impressed by both its tasty dishes and excellent decoration.

After lunch drive to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. It was built in AD652 to house and protect Buddhist scriptures brought back from India by a famous Chinese monk Xuanzang, who spent 17 years traveling to India for the scriptures and translating them into Chinese. His journey has been described in the famous Chinese novel Journey to the West.

Tonight you will enjoy dinner at Tang Palace while watching a fantastic dancing show Tang Dynasty Show. It is quite impressive and reflects the social conditions and culture of Tang Dynasty (618-907) vividly.

Day 13 - Xian | Beijing (B, L)

After breakfast visit the Shaanxi History Museum, which houses a wonderful collection of historic and cultural artifacts.

Xian saw its heyday in Han (206 BC - AD 220) and Tang (618 - 907)Dynasty. The museum boasts a great deal of extremely valuable relics reflecting the history, culture and social life of the two periods. From this point of view, even the Palace Museum (Forbidden City) can't compete with it.

Lunch will be served at Xian Restaurant. This time-honored restaurant serves authentic Shaanxi food including various traditional Xian snacks.

Day 14 - Beijing (B, L, D)

After breakfast your tour begins with a walk through Tiananmen Square, which is the world's largest with a capacity to hold over one million people. Continue through the beautiful Gate of Heavenly Peace to enter the splendid Fobidden City. It was the sacred heart of the empire for about 500 years (1420 - 1911), totally 24 Ming and Qing Dynasty emperors lived and ruled here. Your tour here will include access to two special exhibition halls, Hall of Clocks and Treasure Gallery, which are not included in normal tours.

After having lunch embark on a pedi-cab tour of the hutongs(alleyways) in Beijing's historic Houhai(Back Lakes)district. These alleyways containing traditional courtyard homes used to be neighborhoods in Beijing. Though many have been torn down to make room for modern buildings, some are saved and well preserved. On this tour, you will get to visit several homes and chat with the families who reside in them, a rare insight into everyday life of Beijingers.

Mutianyu Great Wall

This morning head for the superb Mutianyu section of the 2,000-year-old Great Wall, which is the country's most famous attraction and one of the few sights in the world that is still able to exceed the expectations of visitors. Walking along the walls and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes. Cable car ride is available to save your energy.

Enjoy authentic American food at Beijing Schoolhouse Restaurant located in the nearby Mutianyu Village.

After having lunch visit the Summer Palace, a royal residence set among traditional Chinese gardens on the beautiful Kunming Lake.

Day 16 - Beijing (B, L, D)

After that go to Liulichang, a street with long history and rich cultural atmosphere. It is a favorite place of scholars, painters and calligraphers as there were hundreds of shops selling ancient books, paintings, ink stones...etc.

After having lunch pay a visit to Lama Temple (Yonghe Temple), the largest and best preserved lamasery in China.
