Pingyao, one of the four remaining well-preserved ancient cities in China, an ancient banking and business center in China, has well kept streets, stores, temples and residential houses constructed during the imperial Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, and it draws many domestic and international tourists each year.

Pingyao Day 01, Beijing - Taiyuan by overnight train K601 (20:30/07:28+1)

Our ACT guide will pick up from your hotel in Beijing in the evening and drive you to Beijing railway station for overnight train to Taiyuan, the capital city of Shanxi Province. Around 11 hours on the night train.

Overnight: soft-sleeper on the train (4 people sharing one compartment)

Pingyao Day 02, Taiyuan – Pingyao – Beijing by overnight train K602 (21:30/08:05+1) (B/L/D)

Upon your arrival in Taiyuan, our local guide will meet you at the railway station and transfer you to have breakfast. After the breakfast, send you to Pingyao, have a full day to explore this Ancient City.
Today you will visit the Ancient City Wall, Rishengchang Exchange Shop, Ming and Qing Street and rmed Escort Company Museum. Finally visit County Government Office, an ancient city hall and law court.
After dinner, you will be transferred to the railway station for the overnight train back to Beijing.

Day 03, arrive in Beijing at 8:05am.
 


RishengchangThe Ancient City Wall, the 630-year-old wall, was listed as a World Cultural Heritage site in 1997. The present city wall was reconstructed in 1370. It has a perimeter of 6.4 kilometers and is over 12 meters high and 3.5 meters wide.

The Rishengchang Draft Bank, located at No.105 in Nanda Jie of Pingyao, was first set up in 1823 during the reign of the sixth Qing Emperor and was the first draft bank in China. 

Rishengchang The Ming Qing Street, also called Nanda Jie, is one of the busy and interesting streets in which to experience ancient Chinese culture. This several-hundred-meter-long street is lined by 20-30 private museums showcasing the commercial and popular cultures of the Ming and Qing dynasties. It has become a must see attractions for tourists.
