Red Sandalwood or red sanders, is a species of tree in the family Fabaceae, which yields valuable timber. Its texture is hard, which makes it excellent material for making furniture, numerous basso-relievo, sculpture-in-the-rounds, fretworks give full display to the charms of red sandalwood. It's abroadly used in classic Chinese furnitures, especially during Ming and Qing dynasties, and only royal members or rich people can possess of these furniture, because of the material rareness and complicated carving technics.
