Met at Beijing Railway Station at 6:30am by your tour guide, take morning train to Chengde, the former summer retreat of the Manchu Emperors (250km, 4 hours).
Upon arrival transfer to the Yunshan hotel. After lunch visit the majestic Summer Resort, the largest royal landscape in China today, enveloped within a smaller version of the Great Wall.

Day 2 Chengde - Beijing (B/L)

An inspirational half-day sightseeing includes the Temple of the Wooden Buddha, the Putuozongcheng Temple, a dramatic replica of the Potala Palace in Tibet and time to browse the local markets. After lunch transferred to the railway station and take soft berth back to Beijing. End of service upon arrival at Beijing Station.Situated in the north part of the city center of Chengde, Hebei, the Summer Resort is the place for the emperor of Qing dynasty to spend summer holidays and handle governmental affairs. It was originally built in Kangxi 42nd year (1703), and finished in Qianlong 57th year (1792). The total acreage is 5640 thousand square meters, with a building area of around 100 thousand square meters, and more than 110 construction sites and all together 184 scenic spots (including the 36 sites titled by Kangxi and Qianlong); the winding palace wall, the biggest ancient emperor palace now exist in China, is more than 190 km long. Summer Resort was honored as "World Cultural and Natural Heritage" by the UN Organization of Science, Education and Culture in 1994 December.
To the east and north of the Summer Palace, distributed the grand and huge temple constructions, this is what famed as Waiba Temple which were constructed during Kangxi 52nd year (1713) to Qianlong 45th year (1780). They are: Anda Temple, Puning Temple, Xumifusi Temple, Putuozongcheng Temple, Shuxiang Temple. Xumifushou Temple is the place where the 6th Panchen taught his doctrines. Putuozongcheng Temple, skirt the northern and eastern walls of the imperial summer resort, is an imitation of the Potala Palace in Tibet, and known as the small Potala Palace.
