Day 1

Beijing   (No meal included)

Upon your arrival in Beijing, our tour guide and driver will meet you at the Beijing airport and transfer you to your downtown hotel where you can relax and rest.

Day 2

Beijing   (B, L, D)

Today is Chinese New Year´s Eve. This morning you will be picked up at the hotel lobby and driven to the Forbidden City and Jingshan Park for a visit.
After lunch, explore the hutongs and prepare for a family visit. There, you will see the preparations for the  activities for the coming new year, such as purchasing goods for the New Year, pasting spring couplets, pictures and "Fu 福" characters, give a hand to make dumplings and find out why Chinese eat them this day. S
Tonight, the family will invite you to enjoy a home-made reunion dinner. After that, you can set off firecrackers to welcome the New Year 2013 with theteh locals. Be driven back to your hotel on completion of the celebrations.

Day 3

Beijing   (B, L)

Today is the first day of 2013 according to the Chinese lunar calendar and is called Spring Festival..Highlights of your morning tour will be Temple of the Heaven, where you will have a chance to witness the grand Heaven Worshipping Ceremony. In the old days, the Temple of Heaven was the place where Emperors helds large-scale sacrificial ceremonies to pray to God to give good crop weather and harvests.
After lunch, you will be driven to the Temple of Earth (Ditan Park) where you can find many interesting things during the Temple Fair. Ditan Temple Fair has a history of more than 20 years. The ancient custom of holding a temple fair is to offer sacrifices to the God of the Earth. And now, it has developed into a fair full of delicious food, funny games and performances.
In the late afternoon, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 4

Beijing   (B, L)

This morning you will head for the superb Mutianyu section of the 2,000-year-old Great Wall, the country´s most famous attraction and one of the few sights in the world that is still able to exceed the expectations of visitors. Walk along the walls and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes. Cable car rides are available to save your energy.
Later, you will visit a jade shop.
In the afternoon you will pay a visit to Dingling, one of the 13 Ming Tombs. It is the tomb of Zhu Yijun, who is considered as the most intelligent emperor in China´s history. The tomb is the only one among 13 tombs excavated.

Day 5

Beijing   (B, L)

This morning, pay a visit to the Summer Palace, which used to be a summer resort of Empress Dowager Cixi. It is mainly dominated by the 60 meters tall Longevity Hill and the beautiful Kunming Lake.
After lunch, you will visit a pearl shop and then head for a lama temple named Yonghe Palace. Originally, it was a gift given by Emperor Kangxi to his fourth son, Prince Yinzhen, who was crowned as Emperor Yongzhen after Kangxi died.
You will be taken back to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 6
