For international traders either in China or interested in China, Canton Fair is a household word. Often, the ambition and success of a Chinese enterprise can be evaluated by whether it has ever attended the Canton Fair or not. Canton Fair, known as China Import and Export Fair by full name, is the largest and most influential trade fair in China. Of all trade fairs in China, it boasts the largest assortment of products, the largest number of attendees, and the largest number of business deals. Since 1957, the Fair has been held annually in Guangzhou every spring and autumn.
The Fair serves as an international comprehensive business platform. Export trade is the focus of the fair, though import is done here, too. Other business activities may include economic and technical cooperation and exchanges, advertising, consultation, etc. The 113th Canton Fair is to be held in three phases between April 15th and May 5th, 2013.
