Ancient City Wall of Zhaoqing

Ancient City Wall made in Song Dynasty of Zhaoqing is the most important heritage site of history and culture and also one of the better-preserved city walls of Song Dynasty in current China. It is at present the well-protected and the only ancient city wall playing the role in flood defense, especially its building method, which is absolutely different from today's. 

In 2008, this city wall was resurfaced and reconstructed initially after more than 1000 years' history of experience. It is rare for people to see such a city wall that built in Song Dynasty. Roughly after 20 reconstructions in several dynasties, the bricks of different dynasties can be discovered since Song Dynasty. Some specialists think of this city-wall museum as the First of Guangdong and Rarity in China. This Song Dynasty city wall is also famous as the small-size Great Wall.
