Wine Culture Museum of China

 

 

Historically, the ancient town of Xitang has been a wine city. "Drink good wine and write great poems" has always been a tenet deep in the hearts of littérateurs in ancient China. In the early years of the Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644), a famous poet took a boat to Xitang and wanted to find a good restaurant for him to have a rest, to drink and write poems. During the Qing Dynasty (1644 – 1911), "Three-white of Plum Blossom" wine had been well-known throughout the region. Poet Liu Yazi, who flourished in early twentieth century, visited Xitang many times. The wine cultural development in Xitang has been keeping pace with the evolution of the ancient water town. 

The Wine Cultural Museum of China collects hundreds of articles to demonstrate China's wine culture. It researches many things that are connecting Chinese liquor through the ages, including folklore, history, economy, literature, art and medicine. The museum caters the tastes of common tourists and history enthusiasts.
