Hundred-Bed Museum

 

Hundred-bed museum is No.210 on East Street of Wuzhen Town, and the local calls it Zhao Family Hall. It is specially used for collecting ancient beds of Jiangnan area. It is a very unique museum themed with varieties of beds as well as the varieties of stories and traditions. Perhaps, each bed has its own story and history closely connected the life experience of its masters. The main items on display include Miss Bed, Double-Dragon Bed with Flower-Carved Shelf, Double-Happiness Bed, and Red Wood-Carving Bed with Mirror and so on. These beds boast the elaborative carving, luxurious decoration, unique style and the excellent design. All of them are the best presentation of Chinese ancient beds. The designers and the makers were both excellent artists without the professional school training. Their inspirations were all from their life and work.
