Ancient Coins and Paper Money Museum

 

Ancient Coin Museum formally called Yu Liuliang's Coin and Paper Money Museum is a themed museum in Wuzhen Town. Many people are engaging in the antique collection for higher sales. Mr.Yu collected and arranged the antiques and coins for country. On Guanqian Street in Wuzhen, there is a coin and paper money museum named after Yu Liuliang. It is maybe the best place to see Chinese coin and paper money history.

Yu Liuliang's Coin and Paper Money Museum is located in a residential building built in the early 1900s on Guanqian Street in Wuzhen. All the coins and paper money collected in the museum belong to famous money collector Yu Liuliang. Mr. Yu Liuliang was born in Wuzhen. The first ancient coin he collected was the one his grandmother presented to him when he was a kid. Yu Liuliang once studied major of casting in the Technical School of the Jiangnan Shipping Dock. After graduation, he left in the school as a teacher teaching casting. In 1960, in order to better teach the cause of casting, Yu began to collect ancient coins. The coin and paper money Yu collected cover a history of over 3,000 years. The earliest money Yu collected was the gold-covered copper coin of the Shang Dynasty (BC 16th century to BC 11th Century). And the most expensive coin he collected is so-called "Holly Tongbao" coin of the Song Dynasty (960-1279), which is said to be only five left after hundreds of years of changes.

Recently, Yu Liuliang was awarded as one of Top-Ten National Collectors. In the past 4o years, he collected 25,000 kinds of coins and paper money of more than 230 nations and areas. There are more than 21,000 kinds of coins and more than 3000 kinds of paper money. It is incomparable. Even his family was called Bank of Hundreds of Countries. And Mr. Yu was called rich man in Jiangnan Area.
