Wuxi Xiju Opera Museum

Xiju Opera Museum was formally opened to the civilians in 2007. The total area of Wuxi Opera Museum is nearly 1500 square meters. The whole architecture is fully embodying the element and style of traditional building style in southern area of Yangtze River. The exhibition halls could be divided into two parts, one is Xiju Opera Exhibition Hall and the other is Experimental Show Stage. Xiju Opera Museum shows the formation, development, popularity and succession in static way. It also shows the related documents, more than 3000, in the ways of characters, pictures and real objects. Experimental Show Stage plays the role of performance in order to offer the performance space and cultural leisure service. In 2006, Xiju Opera was selected to be the first batch of non-material cultural heritages in Jiangsu Province.

This special museum offers the people, particularly the younger generation the good chance to learn more traditions and inherit the quintessential parts of past.
