Tang Dynasty Town

Tang Dynasty Town is located at the foot of Dafushan Mountain in the southwest of Wuxi City. It is the base of CCTV for outside environment. Originally it was the landscape area of large-scale royal garden learned from the style of Tang Dynasty for Teleplay making such as Tangminghuang, who was the Emperor of Tang Dynasty during its most prosperous time, Yangguifei, who was the loved of Tangminghuang, and she was also one of the four most beautiful ladies in ancient China. Afterwards, it got increased to be a film-making and cultural tour site for people.

Enetering Tang Dynasty Town, directly seeing the statue of Xianrenchenglu(仙人承露, which means the immortal wears the dew) with the height of several ten meters, which showing the stability and prosperity of Tang Dynasty. On both sides of prosperous Tang-Dynasty Streets, many old-style architectures used for restaurants, leisure place and so on. For example, Taibai Restaurant, which was named after Li Po, a world-renowned poet of Tang dynasty, and also was a drinking lover. It is said that the last president of France, Jacques Chirac, is a famous researcher of Li Po’s poem. The tea house, wine-shop, private banks and temples are all arranged as the former layout of Tang Dynasty.

Going across the back street, large-scale royal architectural groups in the mountains and bamboos are comprised of Chengxiang Pavilion, Performance Stage and so on. On the left of Chengxiang Pavilion, there is a huge reservoir installed the world-largest water wheel with the diameter of 18 meters and the weight of 10 tons. Surrounding it, there are 24 dragon-head water holders specially for cooling of royal palace.

There is also another group of architecture on the left of buildings, the center is a huge Tang-Dynasty-like palaces, which surrounded by the ancient city walls and towers. There are also three performance halls in palaces. There is also a garden called Lotus Garden, which can lead the travelers to savor the old days and landscape of the first scene in Capital, Chang’an.

The surrounding of Tang-Dynasty Town shows the travelers the original appearance of Chang’an, the capital of Tang Dynasty, besides the waitress of service and rite all wear the garments of Tang Dynasty. And the performance played by many beauties and talented dancers let us come back to that great times!
