CCTV Movie &TV Base in Wuxi

CCTV Movie and TV Base is located in the side of Taihu Lake in Wuxi city. It is the first and large-scale film-making and TV program making base, besides it is also the famous destination for cultural tour. It is the theme zone showing the perfect combination of film culture and tourism culture. It is also the first batch of 5-A level scenic zones in China.

CCTV Movie and TV Base was established in 1987 with the total ground area of 100 hectares and the water area of Taihu Lake is available of 200 hectares. At that time, according to the guideline of establishment through programs of CCTV, and then the Ancient Tang-Dynasty Town, Three-Kingdom Town and Shuihu Town were established successively for teleplay-making such as Emperor Tangminghuang, Three-Kingdom Legend and Heroes of the Marshes.

CCTV Movie and TV Base has a large-scale classical architecture groups. The style of buildings in Three-Kingdom Town is grand and significant. The main attractions include: Wu-King Palace. Empress Palace, Ganlu Temple, Han Ding(In Chinese” 鼎”, which is an ancient kitchen ware, traditionally it was the symbol of power), the Water Villages of Cao Cao’s Troops(in Chinese, 曹操，who was a great politician, poet, militarist, literator in Three-Kingdom Period), the Water Village of Wu-State, Zhou Yu General-Counting Dais,(Zhou Yu, in Chinese”周瑜”， a famous general in three kingdoms period, and he was a talented and handsome gentleman that controlled the military power of Wu State. He did well in music composition, and poet. His wife was also one famous beauty in that time. Later, he became a classical image of talented and powerful man. In Shui Hu Town, the buildings are perfect for savoring, and the main attractions include: The Imperial Palace, Fan Tower, the Riverside Street on Tomb-Cleaning Day, the Royal Street, and Purple-Stone Street. In Tang-Dynasty Town, the main attractions include: the Imperial Garden, Chenxiang Pavilion, Huaqing Pool, Tang-Dynasty Palace. Additionally, the old-style Beijing Siheyuan, Street of Old Shanghai and so on. These architectures are elaborately designed by experts.

The performance of this base is colorful, each day there are more than 20 horsing battles, dancing and singing, film stunt performances and so on. In scenic area, there are always many film-making teams stationed. The stars from Hongkong, Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan come and go here.
