Chuanyan Nineteen Mounts Scenic Area

Chuanyan Nineteen Mounts Scenic Area is located in Jingling Town, 22 km away from Xinchang, a county in Shaoxing City, China. It has an area of 30.62 square km. The entire scenic area contains a lot of small scenic spots. Among them, Chuanyan Nineteen Mounts, Qianzhang Glen, Taitou Mountain, and Dao Tuo Xue are the most famed. Chuanyan Nineteen Mounts Scenic Area is a provincial-level tourist attraction famous for its beautiful natural landscape, which covers mounts, screen-like mountain peaks, rocks, mountain ranges, caves, mountain streams, waterfalls, ponds, and springs, etc. Water scenery combines with mountain scenery, which makes an elegant, quiet, rare, and adventurous tourist attraction out of the area. Now the scenic area has become a fairyland for sightseeing and vacationing, especially for mountaineering and above-water activities. And current research indicates that behind the mountains, there is a stretch of land which features rare Danxia Landform.

Chuanyan Nineteen Mounts is the main body of the scenic area. It is located behind Yazhuang Village, Jingling Town. It is named so because there are nineteen peaks behind the village. The peaks stand just like a folding screen guarding the village against attack. They are Xianglu Peak, Lanchuan Peak, Ma’an Peak, Xinfu Peak, Qipan Peak, Zhuojian Peak, and Fuzhong Peak, etc. And Ma’an Peak is the main attraction. In the upper part of Ma’an Peak, there is a massive hole through the peak. Standing on the cliff in the east of the peak and looking forward, you may get the feeling that you were standing on the fore deck of a great ship separating the water to head forward. It is said that each peak has caves. And the most famed cave is Chuanyan Cave. With an area of 240 square meters, it can hold more than 500 people simultaneously. In the cave, there is a spring, which never runs dry. And the statues of Emperor Yan, Shen Nong, and Ruo Ke stand inside the cave. Local people frequent the cave to worship the three. Before you enter Yazhuang Village, there is a small village named Dawang Miao. You may stay there for a while for it is a good place for you to enjoy the full view of Chuanyan Nineteen Mounts and take pictures.

Qianzhang Glen is located to the east of Chuanyan Nineteen Mounts. It winds and stretches for 2 km. It is famous for its beautiful natural scenery. It was a beautiful location for many famous TV Series including Legendary Swordsman and Legend of the Condor Heroes. Taitou Mountain is to the east of Qianzhang Glen. Dao Tuo Xue is a peak. It looks like an upturned boot. It is 11 meters high, 3 meters wide. On the top, there grow maple trees and pines.
