Bai Zhang Fei Waterfalls

Bai Zhang Fei Waterfalls Scenic Spot is located in Bai Zhang Canyon, 40 km away form downtown Shengzhou. The canyon is 1500 meters deep and the surrounding landscape is quite beautiful. The scenic spot is famous as the greatest waterfall group in south China and is composed of Baizhang Waterfall, Xizhu Waterfall, Yuanyang Waterfall, Wudie Spring, Yanwei Waterfall, Yixian Waterfall, Xiaoyao Waterfall, Jiulong Pond, and Jigong Pond, etc. In September, 2002, it was acknowledged as a National AA-level Scenic Spot. 

From a hundred-meter-high and three-hundred-meter-wide cliff, Baizhang Waterfall falls into the ground making an thunderous sound just like thousands of horses running on the battlefield. At the end of the fall arises thick water mist. And when the sun shines on the water beads, there may appear a rainbow in the sky above the waterfall. Xiaoyao Waterfall is to the southwest of Baizhang Waterfall. It is 98 meters high. It is shaped like “之”, a Chinese character. Yanwei Waterfall is divided into two in the middle by a protruding rock just like the tail of a swallow. That’s why it is named Yanwei Waterfall. Yixian Waterfall is 30 meters high. It falls from the cliff like a silver ribbon. Thus it is named Yixian Waterfall. Wudie Spring is 120 meters high. The rain water accumulates on the mountaintop and falls off slowly and gently. The waterfalls in the scenic spot are multi-shaped. You can hardly find two alike.
