The Oriental Pearl TV Tower
Oriental Pearl TV Tower is comprehensively used for sightseeing, meeting, exhibition, meals, shopping, amusement and TV & Radio broadcasting. By taking double-decker elevators, visitors can travel up and down the tower and listen to bilingual introduction (Chinese and English) by the elevator attendants.
The entire Oriental Pearl TV Tower is supported by three nine-meter wide columns and there are 11 spheres in total. The base of it is a science hall (the biggest sphere), with three decorative spheres below. The five smaller spheres above are a hotel which contains twenty-five elegant rooms and lounges. The pearl at the very top of the tower contain shops, restaurants, (including a revolving restaurant which is the highest in Asia) and a sightseeing floor. From this height you can get a full view of Shanghai. The tower's restaurants offer delicious meals and Sino-foreign buffet dinner, which provides you a perfect experience to share delicacy and scenery simultaneously. Shanghai city history exhibition hall is also located in the Oriental Pearl TV Tower with a square over 6000 square meters with innovative display for history education.
It is also recommended to appreciate Oriental Pearl TV Tower at night along the bund with neon-light illumination that presents you colorfulness and attractiveness of the tower.
