Confucius’ mansion, also called Yanshenggong Mansion (Yanshenggongfu), is located at the eastside of Confucius’ Temple. Confucius’ Mansion, also crowned to be the No.1 Family on earth, is the long-term living residence of the oldest successor of Confucius family in different generation. Confucius’ mansion is also a typical architecture integrating the living house with Chinese feudalistic governmental offices. After Confucius died, Confucius’ offspring looked after the remainders of Confucius by way of living aside the Confucius temple. During the late time of North Song Dynasty, the descendants of Confucius enlarged the number of the residential rooms and in the Jin Dynasty, the offspring of Confucius used to live at the eastside of Confucius Temple. As the rising and preferment of Confucius’s official status after his death, the scale and area of Confucius’ mansion both broadened. Roughly in Song, Ming and Qing Dynasties, it finalized its current appearance. Currently, the Confucius mansion covers nearly 7.4 hectares with 480 rooms. The whole architecture is well preserved and designed marvelously. There are a large amount of cultural relics and a lot of paper records reserved in Confucius mansion. Roughly the whole mansion is separated into three parts, that is, east road, west road and mid-road. On the east road, the famous architecture includes Yiguan Hall, Muen Hall, Confucius Family Memorial and Family-sized workshop. On the west road, the major architecture includes: Honge Pavilion, Zhongshu Hall, Anhuai Hall and Flower Hall. The major architecture of Confucius Mansion is mid-road. The front section is office of authority and three halls and six houses. And the latter section is the inner residence for living, the subsidiary building, hall building and gardens.
