Wengxiang Miao Village (翁项苗寨) is locally known as the "land of ginger" or "the vegetable home" because of the excellent climate. The village in Panghai Town (旁海镇) is quite close to downtown Kaili (凯里市), merely 12 kilometers away and so near to the Qingshuijiang (Clear Water River).

Among the most enjoyable is the Reed Pipe Festival（芦笙节）, which is celebrated on the Fourteenth Day of Seventh Month in the Lunar Calendar. Bull fighting, playing reed pipes, chicken fighting, bird fighting, basketball game, long-distance running, tug-of-war, evening party and Miao dancing are the essential activities to be done during the celebration.
