Yixian County

 

 

Yixian was named after Mt. Huangshan, which anciently was called Yishan Mountain. The total area of Yixian County is 857 square kilometers and administrates 8 towns. Its total population is 96700. It was established in 221 BC. Yixian County is one of the oldest counties in China. Yixian County is also one origin of Huizhou business and Huizhou culture. In the administrative zone, there are a large number of civil residences of Ming and Qing Dynasties, memorial temples, paifang, and gardens and so on. It also has the world cultural heritage: Xidi and Hongcun Ancient Villages. These villages are straightforwardly called the treasure of oriental ancient architectures and crowned as the Chinese epitome of traditional culture. Yixian County has the distinctive seasons. Yixian County has the good ecological environment. It also has the good resources. It is tea and some other local produces are more welcome. Its rich tourism resources are widely welcomed.

At the foot of Huangshan Mountain, so many ancient villages are anciently valued, although most of them are unknown. The old residences and the ancient architectures are both characterized of the local art form and art type.
