Zipengshan Mountain National Park

Zipengshan Mountain is located in the southwest part of Hefei city, which has an 18-kilometer distance from the downtown of Hefei. It is connected with the downtown of city via the forest Avenue. This national park covers roughly 100 kilometers. The famous scenery include: Zipengshan Mountain, Yuantongshan Mountain, Zhougongshan Mountain, Daqianshan Mountain. This whole environment and ecological system are kept well. The total area of the forest is 3500 hectares. There are more than 470 plant species and more than 120 birds. The major famous places of interest: Xilu Temple, Li Dian Tomb, Ge Sheng Tomb, the Former Residence of Liu Mingchuan, the Former Residences of Generals Zhang Shusheng, Zhou Shengbo, Tang Diankui and so on. There is also the Bodhisattva Statue with the height of 21 meters and so on. In Qing Dynasty it was crowned to be No.1 Mountain of Luyang. In 1992, it was permitted to be the national park. In 1998, it was recognized to be the province-level scenic area. And in 2001, it was allowed to be the 2-A scenic area.
