Qing Yan Old Town

 

With an area of 3 square kilometres, the architectural style of Qingyan old town（青岩古镇） is typically the pattern of Ming and Qing Dynasty. The doors, the old ancient stone counters and wooden counters are still well preserved. As the time passed, these old buildings still maintain their charmings. 

There's a popular saying in Qingyan old town that "Visit Qingyan old town for sightseeing and eat Qingyan special made pettitoes for your stomach". It is said that the famous cuisine "Stewed pettitoes in seasoning"（卤猪蹄）, also called No. 1 Scholar pettitoes（状元蹄）is elaborately chosen and mix with more than 10 kinds of Chinese herbs. Almost every visitor who comes here will not miss buying the local pettitoes to have a try. 

Qingyan Old town is not only a unique old town of ancient Chinese architectural styles, but also a magic place to mix some western style buildings. Apart from a number of old temples, there's a Christ Church and Cathonic Church here. It's really a harmonious blend of oriental and western culture.
