Sun Yat-sen (1866 – 1925)
Memorial Hall situates at the old site of the Presidential Palace in
Guangzhou city,
southern China. It was built by the joint donation from
Guangzhou people and overseas Chinese in 1931. The hall's architectural style is Chinese with octagonal foundation. It appears grand and solemn. The interior's structure is built of steel and concrete, which are firm and strong. By properly using the principles of mechanics and acoustics, resonance is very less.
The Memorial Hall's front stands the bronze statue of the great founding father of modern China. Affiliated architecture is on the both sides of the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
The Memorial Stele of
Dr. Sun Yat-sen is on the same axis as the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, located on the top of Yuexiu Mountain. It built of granite and it has big base and relatively smaller top, so that it looks like a sword that points to the sky.
