Folk Houses Complex of Ming & Qing Dynasties

Folk Houses Group of Ming & Qing Dynasties is located in Hengdian World Studios in Hengdian Town, Dongyang City, Jinhua City, Zhejiang, China. It has an area of nearly 0.6 sq km. It is a vast group of folk houses dating from Ming & Qing Dynasties, which were transferred to Hengdian from different places in Zhejiang, Anhui, and Jiangxi, etc. Before they were opened to the republic, they were carefully repaired and arranged in layout. The restoration reproduced the former elegant appearance of the Ming-Qing-style folk houses. When enjoying the delicate carving, the powdered white walls, as well as the grey roof tiles, you will feel the pulse of the history. 

The group is divided into two sections: Tiao Hua Yuan and Qin Huai He. In Tiao Hua Yuan Scenic Spot Area, there are many small attractions including Taoyuna Village, Qinren Street, Rural Family, and Bagua Pond, etc. It features a rural scene, which is of elegant antiquity. Qin Huai He Scenic Area consists of the Confucian Temple, Jiangnan Examination Hall, Eight Beauties Hall, Number One Scholar Mansion, Wang & Xie’s Former Residence, and Yan Yu Qin Huai, etc. It features the beauty and prosperity of an ancient capital. Among the ancient architectural complexes, there are plentiful art galleries and museums, which display a great amount of Chinese traditional artworks. Walking through the houses, you may feel like going through a time tunnel and closely touching the age-old Chinese history.
