Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic Area

Jiuzhaigou（九寨沟） is located in the Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province. Its name is derived from the fact that there are nine Tibetan villages ("zhai" in Chinese) with a valley of the Baihe River besides. The average elevation of the scenic area is 2000 m above the sea level. It has primeval forests with 108 crystal clear lakes and varieties of colorful pools and beautiful falls, so the place is sometimes known as the "Fairyland" by the locals. A lot of rare animals can be found here such as giant panda, golden monkey and spotted dear. The Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic Area is enlisted in the "World's Cultural Heritage" by UNESCO in 1992.

The scene of clear blue sky, cotton-like clouds, snowy mountains and virgin forest combined with the beauty of waterfalls, rivers and shoals. All these things make it looks like a master painting. Watch the dances of the passionate Tibetan and Qiang People and Taste the Tibetan mutton grill besides the bonfire in the night is an exotic experience. The depth of the Jiuzhaigou is about 40 km with an area of over 60,000 hectares. It shaped like a "Y" if it is seen on the plane. Traditionally, because of the inconvenience in traffic, the area has always been isolated and only the Tibetans live here. The rustic life of the people has done no damage to the natural beauty in Jiuzhaigou, which is quite hard to find the same or similar in elsewhere on the planet nowadays.

The Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic Area is a nature preserve zone and a state level sightseeing spot. In 1970s, a group of timberjacks discovered Jiuzhaigou valley accidentally, they were moved by this fairyland, so that Jiuzhaigou valley escaped from destroying, became a national forest park, and now one of the top attractions in China.

Jiuzhaigou valley is loved by people because of its romantic landscape and atmosphere. Especially, if you travel to Jiuzhaigou in winter, Jiuzhaigou becomes a fairyland of glittering and translucent ice waterfalls, snow-caped mountains and sapphirine lakes covered in white. You just dip yourself in the hop spring and at the same time appreciate the snowy mountains afar, in the evening, you could also join the local Tibetans for a big bonfire party.

Such a nice tourist attraction for honeymoon! No wonder so many Chinese new couples fly there to take their wedding shots.
