Puppet Manchu Palace Museum

It is a royal palace site museum located in northeast corner of Changchun, northeast China. Puyi, the Last Emperor of Qing Dynasty's China, was living here during the Japanese occupation of northeast China in 1930s. He was a puppet emperor at that time. The palace museum testifies Japanese brutal occupation of the northeast and it is the rare royal palace architecture of colonial style in China. The Puppet Manchu Palace Museum was listed in the key cultural protection units by Jilin provincial government in 1981.

The museum takes up a land area of 137,000 square meters. The main architecture is divided into inner and outer palaces. The inner part was the old residence of the puppet emperor Puyi and his family. The outer part was the office area for doing political activities by Puyi. The Puppet Manchu Palace Museum now collects about 8,500 items of historical relic, giving evidence of Japanese occupation of northeast China. The mementos of the royal palace and Puyi himself, ancient porcelains and calligraphy works from Japan, and the articles that testify Chinese people's resistance the invading Japanese army.

An exhibition of palace architecture is held, also, there are theme exhibitions in "From Emperor to Civilian", "Costumes in the Puppet Palace", "The Puppet Government Officials", "Royal Palace Officials" and "The Life of Puyi and his Concubines".
