An Old Village- Chuandixia

Chuandixia is located in a devious village, three kilometers from Zhaitang Town of Mentougou District in Beijing, and 70 kilometers from the Apple-garden subway station. Many buildings of Qing and Ming Dynasties are well-preserved in the village. It played an important role in transportation of Qing and Ming Dynasties. It is said that under the reign of Emperor Kangxi, a villager named Han Shoude was extremely similar to Emperor Kangxi, and he became the monk in place of Emperor Kangxi. Therefore, he also became the royal relative and built a lot of houses in his hometown.  
Folk residence is located on the slope of northern valley. It covers around one hectare. It has 689 rooms and 74 yards. A street divides the village into two parts. The folk residence is centralized by the small hill in the north of village. Courtyard dwellings in Qing Dynasty give priority to the ancient folk residence. It is composed of the main building, and the subordinate houses on the right and left.
