Sikong Mountain

 

Sikong Mountain is a famous religion mountain as one Buddhism center. Si Kong Mountain lies in YueXi County AnHui Province China; it was called “The First Mountain in Dong Wu in ancient, and now it is called “The First Mountain of Chinese Chan Sect” by Zhao Puchu. It is the Holy land of Chan Sect, and it is also a famous scenic spot.

Bodi Damo, the twenty-eighth founder of Buddha, he united Buddha in India. He came to China with Chan Sect’s mantle and alms bowl on a ship, then he sailed across Chang Jiang River by canoe. At last, he dwelled in Song Mountain cave for nearly ten years, Bodi Damo handed down Chan Sect’s mantle and alms bowl to HuiKe,so he was the first founder of Chinese Chan Sect . Great Master Hui Ke, the second founder of Chinese Chan Sect., dwelled in SiKong Mountain cave to sit in medication for many years ----to preserve the strength. Then he handed down the mantle and alms bowl to his disciple----Monk Can, Great Master Can took over Hui Ke’s mantle and alms bowl, he was the third founder of Chinese Chan Sect, So Si Kong Mountain is the place where Buddhist Rites are performed by Great Master Hui Ke .Great Master Can dwelled in Tian Zhu Mountain to sit in medication and handed down the mantle and alms bowl to his disciple----Dao Xin, Dao Xin was the fourth founder of Chinese Chan Sect, he handed down the Mantle and alms bowl to his disciple----Hong Reng, Hong Reng was the fifth founder of Chinese Chan handed down the mantle and alms bowl to his disciple----Hui Neng---- the sixth founder of Chinese Chan Sect. Hong Reng and Hui Neng great master was in Huang Mei County Hu Bei Province .Si Kong Mountain, Tian Zhu Mountain and Huang Mei is called “Golden Triangle of Chinese Chan Sect” .

< Tai Hu County annals > says : “There is one magical waterfall , two dangerous bridges , three ancient graves (tombs) , five spring waters , seven cliffs , eight mountain peaks , nine mountain caves , fourteen Buddhist temples and fifteen strange stones . It is famous for “Eight Sciences”
